In his Mayfair flat, as bombs rain down during the Blitz, Noël Coward uses Blithe Spirit’s Madame Arcati to summon voices telling of the Christmas spirit through the ages.
Prose taken from the Civil War, First World War, Blitz news reels and other accounts of conflict are blended with Coward’s wit and humour, and songs including London Pride, Don’t Let’s Be Beastly To The Germans and Would You Please Oblige Us With A Bren Gun.
Created by Nick Hutchison seasonal show also includes more festive fare alongside poetry from writers including Ben Jonson, Thomas Hardy and Dylan Thomas.
