Following an acclaimed 2014 run in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Royal Shakespeare Company and Chichester Festival Theatre production of the Bard’s most frequently performed comedy Much Ado About Nothing transfers to the West End.

Playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season, Much Ado About Nothing is brought forwards to the end of the First World War. In Autumn 1918, a group of weary soldiers return from the trenches, with their memories of conflict soon giving way to a life of parties and masked balls.

But as youthful passions run riot, combative courtships are reignited at a post-war house party and brittle high spirits threaten to snap in a riotous comedic romp – before peace ultimately wins out.

Possibly known in Shakespeare’s lifetime as Love’s Labour’s Won, the extremely popular comedy plays in rep with Love’s Labour’s Lost at the venue in a heart-warming double bill.
