Moscow City Ballet comes to Richmond theatre with two classic productions, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker.
Founded in 1988 by former Bolshoi soloist and choreographer Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, Moscow City Ballet has become one of Russia’s most successful touring companies.
3 & 4 Feb: The Sleeping Beauty
The Princess Aurora, cursed at birth by a wicked fairy, sleeps for 100 years until she is awakened by a kiss, and dances happily ever after.
5 & 6 Feb: The Nutcracker
This classic ballet tells of little Clara and her Nutcracker Prince who defeat the armies of the Mouse King and embark on a magical sleigh ride to the Kingdom of the Sweets, where they meet the Sugarplum Fairy, dancing snowflakes and many other characters.
