For an entire generation the Morecambe And Wise Christmas Show was the highlight of Christmas day, attracting some 28 million viewers in 1977. But in 1984 Britain’s best loved comedian, one half of the hugely successful double act, died suddenly at the age of 58.

25 years later the life of Eric Morecambe is celebrated on the West End stage in this biographical play by Tim Whitnall, Morecambe, which comes to London following a sell-out run in Edinburgh.

The man himself is portrayed by Bob Golding, who offers a moving and funny portrait of the affectionate lad with the funny bones, who was a big hearted perfectionist and a born entertainer.
