Scénes De Ballet (1948) and Divertissements Daphnis And Chloe (1951) make up this evening of dance dedicated to the late Frederick Ashton.
Ashton described Scénes De Ballet as “just an exercise in pure dance” and, set to Stravinsky’s score it is an accomplished homage to 19th-Century classicism.
A selection of shorter works by Ashton make up the programmes Divertissements and will include the recently re-discovered pas de deux from Devil’s Holiday.
