Master Class, which stars Cagney And Lacey’s Tyne Daly as Maria Callas, takes audiences to one of her famous master classes, where, late in her own career, she dares the next generation to make the same sacrifices and rise to the same heights that made her the most celebrated, the most reviled and the most controversial singer of her time.

Premiered at the John Golden Theatre in 1995, Master Class won the Tony Award for Best Play and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding New Play. This new production, directed by Stephen Wadsworth, has been showered with praise since opening at the Samuel J Friedman Theatre in 2011.

Daly, who leads the cast of Master Class, won four Emmy Awards for her performance as Mary Beth Lacey in the popular American cop show. She also has a Golden Globe for her performance in Christy and a Tony for playing Rose in Gypsy.
