On her tenth birthday, Marianne has a fever and is confined to bed, drawing to pass the time. On falling asleep she is transported into her pictures and realises that she has the power to change her dreams. Drawing by day and dreaming by night, Marianne soon realises the consequences of her actions. But she is not alone; a sick boy named Mark exists both in her dreams and in reality.

Marianne Dreams, the Almeida’s first show aimed specifically at families, is based on Catherine Storr’s novel, first published in 1958.

This production is recommended for children aged seven and older.
