JT Rogers’s play Madagascar centres on three people who are drawn irresistibly back to Rome to uncover the truth behind a young man’s disappearance. To his mother he was an idealist who feld the West for Africa. His mother’s lover remembers an angry misfit who threw his life away. But his sister thinks she knows why he really went missing, and a gripping story of desire, loneliness and betrayal unfolds.

Rogers’s previous plays include The Overwhelming at the National Theatre, while he also wrote for the Tricycle theatre’s Afghanistan play cycle, The Great Game.
