Matthew Dunster directs Liberian Girl, Diana Nneka Atuona’s debut play about one girl’s story of survival.
The Alfred Fagon Award-winning drama is inspired the events that unfolded in Liberia between 1989 and 2003, when the Civil War claimed more than 200,000 lives, displaced a million others into refugee camps and saw 15,000 children recruited into ‘Small Boys Units’.
Dunster’s recent directing credits include The Lightning Child at Shakespeare’s Globe and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
Liberian Girl is suitable for theatregoers aged 16 and older.
