A double bill of comic legal drama from Rumpole Of The Bailey creator John Mortimer.

The Dock Brief sees incompetent barrister Morganhall asked to represent a lugubrious fellow who has confessed to murdering his wife. While rehearsing the defence in the confines of a cell goes swimmingly, the performance in the courtroom goes horribly wrong.

In Edwin, retired High Court Judge Fennimore Truscott can't stop himself trying people… in his imagination. This pastime is fine, until he turns his suspicious thoughts to his wife's friendship with their next door neighbour.

The cast is led by Edward Fox, whose film credits include The Day Of The Jackal, A Bridge Too Far and Gandhi.
