Fans can expect to see a number of familiarly-warped faces appearing alongside a hideous handful of new ones. There is also talk of the show featuring some ‘seasonal surprises’ and some disturbing reinventions of pantomime. All the Gentlemen themselves are prepared to reveal is that “There will be much fun to be had”, which sounds nothing if not ominous.
The League Of Gentlemen are Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith and Jeremy Dyson (who co-writes the material without appearing). After first unveiling their menagerie of madness at the Edinburgh Festival in 1997, the Gentlemen made a barnstorming debut on Radio 4 before introducing the world to the delights of Royston Vasey on BBC2.
