Michael Ball leads the cast of the Wright/Forrest musical, which receives its first new West End production for nearly 30 years.

Ball, whose previous credits include Les Misérables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Woman In White, plays Hajj/Poet, a man who makes his way as and where he can, and whose curses get him into and out of trouble.

George Forrest and Robert Wright based the music for Kismet on themes from Borodin’s Prince Igor. The symphonic score lends itself to a production by the ENO, as it ranges in style between musical and opera.

Luther Davis, Kismet’s book writer, has collaborated with Gary Griffin and Kit Hesketh Harvey to bring this production to the London Coliseum’s stage.
