Kin is an intricate and anarchic view of what really goes on when 10-year-olds are away from home.

A girls’ boarding school in the 1990s is no Malory Towers. Whilst Mimi learns her lines for John Proctor in the Christmas play, Janey desperately clings on to her best friend status.

Kin playwright E V Crowe is a recent graduate of the Royal Court’s Young Writers’ Programme and this is her debut play.

Kin director Jeremy Herrin recently directed another debut at the Royal Court, the hugely successful That Face by Polly Stenham. His other work includes Stenham’s follow-up, Tusk Tusk, and Michael Wynne’s Laurence Olivier Award-winning comedy The Priory.

Kin is suitable for theatregoers aged 14 and older.
