Olivier and Tony Award-winner Terry Johnson writes and returns to the stage for the first time in 35 years to star in this revival of the spirit of the comic theatrical legend Ken Campbell.
Inspired by the maverick mischief maker and inspirational artist himself, Johnson’s play transports audiences to a 1978 North End Road flat-share, where an aspirational young playwright struggles to pen a piece for the Royal Court.
Receiving a phone call from a man named Ken, however, he is soon taught the pleasures – and perils – of serendipity.
The truly original and unclassifiable Ken Campbell is at the centre of this freewheeling reminiscence of a tumultuous but tremendous relationship between two eccentric theatrical titans.
