Jonny Woo tells the tale of a 6 year old kentish boy who idolised Wonder Woman; who, at 16 was seduced by the pianist at the local am-dram society; discovered cross dressing whilst working at Woolies; found ‘himself’ in some NYC downtown strip bar only to return to London and discover he bore an uncanny resemblance to Mary Portas.
A charming if unusual coming of age story that trawls through bars and discos, gin soaked and costumed to the hilt. Set to an original score by Woo and his collaborators, the tale is told in Woo’s inimitable eclectic style though tongue twister, rap, song and perf/art. With brand new songs and looks, Woo charmed both critics and audiences alike in Edinburgh 2012.
