Andy Warhol famously said “In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes”, a prophecy which has come spectacularly true in the form of reality television. Jenny Eclair’s new play reflects on this obsession with celebrity and the effects of what happens to its so-called stars once the public has become disinterested in them.

Eclair plays the role of Carol Fletcher. She is 43 years old and in disgrace after her dreams of celebrity turned into a reality TV nightmare. The Andy Warhol Syndrome explores what happens after someone’s 15 minutes are up and tells the story of Carol Fletcher (played by Eclair), a woman whose dreams of celebrity turned into a reality TV nightmare…

The play transfers to London after a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival, where Eclair famously became the first (and so far only) woman to win the coveted Perrier Award.
