Alan Ayckbourn’s comedy If I Were You puts a funny and touching take on role reversal.

Mal rules the roost, cheating on his unhappy wife and bullying the son who has failed to live up to his expectations. It seems nothing in this loveless marriage will change, until one night Jill makes a despairing prayer – and wakes up to find that she and Mal have switched bodies. Hilarity ensues as the pair try to keep up appearances and fool the family in this gentle comedy which shows how a change of perspective can bring about a change of heart.
