Following a critically acclaimed run at the Vault Festival and UK tour, Tatty Hennessy’s A Hundred Words For Snow is coming to Trafalgar Studios 2 for a strictly limited four-week run.
Rory’s dad was an explorer. Well, kind of. He was a geography teacher who had the heart of an explorer. And when he suddenly dies, Rory knows the best way to honour him and his memory is to take him on one last expedition. Equipped with a plastic compass and her dad’s ashes, she sets off on an epic adventure to the North Pole just like the beardy explorers of yesteryear. As long as she’s quick and her mum doesn’t find out.
A Hundred Words For Snow is a warm and witty coming-of-age story set in a melting world. It’s a complex story which discusses grief, courage and polar bears. It’s an epic tale about how one girl goes on a journey through adolescence and the Arctic, discovering herself and also the destruction of the planet.
Having received rave reviews and the Origin’s Award for outstanding work at Vault Festival 2018, Tatty’s eagerly anticipated play – directed by Lucy Jane Atkinson and performed by Gemma Barnett – will open at Trafalgar Studios for a limited run from 5 March 2019.
The show has been developed with the support of the Peggy Ramsey Foundation and Arts Council England.
