Alex Hassell plays Prince Hal in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s acclaimed production of Henry IV Part II.

He is joined in the cast by Jasper Britton as Henry IV, Antony Sher as Falstaff and Paola Dionisotti as Mistress Quickly.

King Henry IV’s health is deteriorating, but he is unsure about Prince Hal’s ability to follow him as king. While Falstaff recruits new troops – or uses the time to make money for himself instead – Hal is faced with the choice between duty and family commitment or loyalty to an old friend.

 Henry IV Part II plays in rep with Henry IV Part I at the Barbican.
