Giving life to this moving work are British composers Jonathan Dove and Matthew King, director Clare Whistler, and award winning Czech film maker Marta Hruba, who have worked in all three cities to develop this uplifting drama in which young people of the present give voice to the words of children whose voices were prematurely silenced – children of the Holocaust. Together with Soprano Alison Buchanan, students from London, Nürnberg and Prague will perform with the Fürth Streichhölzer Youth Orchestra under the baton of international conductor Peter Selwyn. These performances are the culmination of a unique European music education project, which uses the arts to increase young people’s awareness and understanding of the dangers of racial hatred and intolerance. They are accompanied by an international exhibition of visual artwork from the project, at the Jewish Museum in Finchley from 28th June 2006 and runs throughout the summer.
