Witness the classic fairy-tale of Hansel And Gretel get a unique twist with Engelbert Humperdinck’s operatic version at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
Hansel And Gretel is the story of a brother and sister, who are left alone in the forest by their mother. Kidnapped by a witch who lives in a house made out of candy and cake, the siblings must work together to outwit her and escape.
A Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre collaboration with the English National Opera for a second year (last year was The Turn Of The Screw), experience the Grimm Brothers’ fairytale anew in this operatic retelling, sung in English.
With 7 lead performers at each performance, an ensemble of 30, and an orchestra of 19, plus conductor, Hansel And Gretel will feature the Open Air Theatre’s largest Company.
Conducted by Ben Glassberg, with direction by Open Air Theatre Artistic director Timothy Sheader, you won’t want to miss out on this adaptation of this beloved story.
Hansel And Gretel will be performed at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre between 14 June 2019 – 22 June 2019.
