Teatro de los Andes shift Shakespeare’s famous tale to Bolivia in this inventive and visual production, Hamlet de los Andes.

Using a deceptively simple staging and three actors playing 15 characters, the company creates a politically charged production that illuminates the plight of their countrymen who leave their rural homes in their thousands to search for a better life in the city.

Themes of personal betrayal and state corruption are mixed with traditional storytelling and Bolivian music in this show playing as part of the CASA Latin American Theatre Festival 2013.

Hamlet de los Andes is suitable for theatregoers aged 14 and older, and is performed in Spanish with English surtitles.
