One of the biggest hits of the 2003 Dublin Theatre Festival, Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre brings its reworking of Giselle to the Barbican.
Set in the fictional town of Ballyfeeny, the plot moves between the opposing forces of humour and despair in this social tragedy featuring phoney cowboys, line dancers and ghosts. The cast of nine men and one woman treads the very thin line between drama and dance in this darkly comic and poignant production.
Michael Keegan-Dolan, who has both written and directs this production, has emerged in recent years as one of Ireland’s most innovative and talented artists, exhibiting an incredible knack for blurring the boundary between dance and theatre.
The production contains sexually explicit material and language which some may find disturbing.
