William Oldroyd, one of the directors selected for the Young Vic's Wilson Bros scheme, directs Ibsen's Ghosts in a production without decor.

Still shocking and controversial, Ghosts is Ibsen's sensational portrayal of the darker side of family life. It remains one of his most popular plays. 

Oldroyd's previous work includes a Japanese language production of Kean in Tokyo, plus Scenes From An Execution at Hackney Empire Studio and the Two Noble Kinsmen for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The Wilson Bros scheme – named after the butcher's shop which once stood on the site of the Young Vic – is a major new initiative which selects three directors and one company to undertake a residency at the Young Vic which culminates in a staged production in the Clare or Maria theatres.
