A duel presentation of movement and words, illuminating distinctive artistic practice, this event contains both the dance For Now, I Am… and a dialogue with Marc Brew on crafting performance.
Dance: For Now, I am… is the second part of Marc Brew’s trilogy (the first, Remember When, featured in =dance here in 2015). Following his life changing accident, the work explores the journey of getting to know a body, and new ways of performing with it.
With an ethereal soundtrack by Claire McCue, featuring cellist Andrew Huggan, striking visual projections by Jamie Wardrop, and an exquisite lighting design by Andy Hamer, the work showcases Brew’s fierce physicality with tender expression.
Dialogue:
10 March: Renowned percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie and Marc Brew compare creating, performing, and collaborating in their respective art forms.
11 March: Alistair Spalding, Sadler’s Wells’ Chief Executive and Artistic Director will be in conversation with Marc Brew on creating dance which reflects life experience.
