Bryn Terfel, who has not performed a full opera with Welsh National Opera since 1996, returns to the WNO for this production of Wagner’s early masterpiece. The opera marked the composer’s fascination with the combination of myth and music.
The Dutchman must forever sail the seas in torment with a ghostly crew. His only hope of salvation is the unconditional love of a woman. However, there is one such woman, intrigued by both the legend and the man.
