500 years is a long time to hold that mysterious smile and the Mona Lisas are tired of being ladies in waiting. Leaving their empty frame behind, they break free and take a walk on the wild side. But they get more than they bargained for in the outside world where any nude with attitude can be famous for 15 minutes. Moving from the world of Leonardo da Vinci via the shock waves of Manet’s ‘pornographic’ nude, the African panorama of the Cubists, Duchamp’s ‘ready-mades’ and Warhol’s multiple images to reach the graffiti generation this sharply funny production takes us on a surreal journey through an explosive landscape of modern visual art.
