This action-packed adaptation of Anthony Horowitz’s young adult novel The Falcon’s Malteser brings slapstick, comedy songs, mystery – and a fully-realised car chase – to the stage.
The show introduces London audiences to the Diamond Brothers Detective Agency. Tim Diamond, hapless and helpless, is the world’s worst private investigator. But luckily for him, his younger brother Nick Diamond is around, helping him to crack his toughest case yet: the mystery of The Falcon’s Malteser.
When a solitary box of Maltesers is delivered to their office by a miniature Mexican, the Diamond Brothers think nothing of it. But all of a sudden, they find themselves the target of half of London’s criminal underworld – what’s so special about these maltesers that criminals are willing to kill for them, anyway?
The Falcon’s Malteser is adapted for the stage by original comedy theatre company New Old Friends. Run by husband and wife team Feargus Woods Dunlop and Heather Westwell, their award-winning previous shows include Crimes Against Christmas, Crimes On The Christmas Express, Crimes Under The Sun and Crimes On The Nile.
A cast of four play dozens of characters in this action-filled performance: Sian Eleanor Green plays Nick Diamond, with Matt Jopling as Tim, and Fergus Leathem and Samantha Sutherland playing the other characters.
Renowned as one of the best family shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2014 and 2015, The Falcon’s Malteser has played sell-out performances on two UK tours. Now, the much-loved show is coming to similarly thrill London audiences.
Amongst author Anthony Horowit’z other works are the bestselling teen spy series Alex Rider, estimated to have sold 19 million copies worldwide. Anthony also pens numerous successful television series, including Midsomer Murders and Foyle’s War.
Running over the summer holidays at the Vaults under Waterloo, this is the central London premiere for The Falcon’s Malteser – a hilarious family show about the world’s worst detective.
