Elling and Kjell have spent years living institutionalised lives, but now they have the opportunity to re-assimilate themselves into society. They have a flat in the city, and all they have to do to escape being sent back to the asylum is convince the social worker that they are ‘normal’, even if it does feel safer sleeping in the wardrobe.
