The highly regarded Dutch National Ballet (DNB) presents a programme celebrating three creative forces whose work has been influential in DNB’s success.
Rudi van Dantzig’s choreography to Richard Strauss’s Vier Letzte Lieder is the only ballet given permission to use this music. Van Dantzig was DNB’s Artistic Director from the 1960s to 1991 and did much to raise the company’s international profile.
Another former Artistic Director, Hans Van Manen, has his Frank Bridge Variations included in the program, which also includes new work from Resident Choreographer Krzysztof Pastor.
The programme is completed by William Forsythe’s The Second Detail, a showcase for academic ballet technique.
