The miserly Don Pasqaule wants to cheat his nephew Ernesto, while Ernesto is interested only in marrying Norina. Luckily the clever Doctor Malatesta is on hand to ensure that everything ends happily via a secret tryst and a little disguise. Jonathan Miller directs Donizetti’s comedy of character.
