Rufus Norris makes his operatic directorial debut with Mozart’s tale of the world’s most famous deceitful lover, Don Giovanni.
Norris is the multi-award-winning director of such West End and international hits as Cabaret, Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Festen. Set designer Ian MacNeil has also won numerous awards, including two Evening Standard Awards (one for Festen), two Laurence Olivier Awards (one for English National Opera’s Ariodante) and a Tony Award (for Billy Elliot: The Musical).
The outstanding young Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits, who launched his four-year tenure as Principal Conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra with a 2009 BBC Proms concert, makes his London operatic debut with Don Giovanni.
Don Giovanni’s outstanding cast is led by Iain Paterson as the legendary sexaholic, with Rebecca Evans and Sarah Tynan among the ever-lengthening list of his past and present paramours.
