The Globe Young Players return to the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse with Christopher Marlowe’s tale of tragic love and meddling gods, Dido, Queen Of Carthage.
Following the Trojan war, Aeneas finds himself shipwrecked on the Carthage coast. Carthage’s Queen, the titular Dido, is ready to help the Aeneas build a new Troy in Italy, but Venus steps in, transforming assistance and cooperation into a passionately possessive love.
The Globe Young Players is a company of specially selected young people, aged between 12 and 16-years-old, who receive training from Shakespeare’s Globe’s resident experts.
