The Lyric Hammersmith’s 10th anniversary pantomime, Dick Whittington, gets the full Lyric treatment, with live music, crazy characters and awesome adventure.
Throw in singing, dancing, villainous baddies and heroic goodies – with a little bit of feline flavour for good measure – and Dick Whittington is set to prove the perfect festive family treat.
The Lyric pantomime is now a firm fixture in the seasonal calendar. It began life in 2009 with Jack And The Beanstalk as part of Sean Holmes’ first season as Artistic Director, with a script written by Richard Bean, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, Joel Horwood and Che Walker, and has gone on to star the likes of Mel Giedroyc, Vikki Stone and Stevie Webb.
The pantomime has launched many new careers through the Panto Ensemble, a group of young performers given training and the experience of taking to the stage to perform, many in their first paid professional roles. Previous ensemble members have included Nathan Byron who has appeared in Benidorm, Krystal Dockery who after the ensemble went on to play the title role in Cinderella at the Lyric, and Jamael Westman, who plays the title role in Hamilton in the West End.
Celebrating 10 years of success, don’t miss this very special version of Dick Whittington – full of fun, entertainment and festivities to celebrate the season in style.
