Dougal Irvine’s new musical comedy Departure Lounge centres on four 18-year-olds caught between adolescence and adulthood. Delayed at Malaga airport following a week in the sun to celebrate the end of school, they reminisce about their time together. Soon it becomes clear that their individual memories of the holiday are at odds, particularly when it come to romance and the girl on all their minds… Is she as innocent as we are lead to think and will the boys’ friendships hold firm as they all face a coming-of-age?
Departure Lounge comes to Waterloo East theatre following performances in Edinburgh and New York.
