Play Trailer
Fresh from a sold-out, critically acclaimed run at the Young Vic, Wendell Pierce and Sharon D. Clarke reprise their roles in Death Of A Salesman in the West End.
Co-directed by the multi-award-winning Marianne Elliott and her Company and Angels In America Associate Director, Miranda Cromwell, Death Of A Salesman marks a unique interpretation of Arthur Miller’s landmark twentieth-century play, as events are recalled through the eyes of an African-American family.
Death Of A Salesman is the story of a travelling salesman, Willy, who has struggled to rise above a life of mediocrity. Recounting his memories, the play looks back on the missed opportunities which came to define his – and his family’s – lives.
The show is widely recognised as one of the greatest plays of all-time. Amongst others, the show has won three Tony Awards for Best Revival in its history, often featuring a number of stars in its demanding roles. In this production, Pierce (best known for his roles in The Wire and Suits) reprises his role from the Young Vic as Willy Loman. He is joined by Clarke (an Olivier Award winner at this year’s ceremony) as his wife, Linda. Further casting for the production will be announced in due course.
Death Of A Salesman will also feature the work of designer Anna Fleischle, lighting designer Aideen Malone, sound designer Carolyn Downing, composer and musical director by Femi Temowo, with fight direction and additional movement support by Yarit Dor and casting by Charlotte Sutton CDG. Elliott & Harper Productions and Cindy Tolan produce this West End transfer.
Retelling one of the greatest plays of all-time through revelatory performances, Death Of A Salesman is a classic play revisited with an unforgettable production. Don’t miss your second chance to see one of the most critically acclaimed revivals of the year when it comes to London’s Piccadilly Theatre this winter.
