A fond, if somewhat irreverent, tribute to the lives of his late mother and his dementia-suffering father, celebrated comedian David Baddiel’s solo show My Family: Not The Sitcom transfers to the Vaudeville Theatre.
Following a successful run at the Menier Chocolate Factory and billed as “a massively disrespectful celebration” of the lives of parents Sarah and Colin, David Baddiel digs beneath the surface of his “wonderful” memories in order to truly remember them.
Recalling their oddities, peculiarities and idiosyncrasies, he celebrates their flaws and achievements uniformly; the dead, after all, aren’t angels.
Official London Theatre’s Lucy Rahim described the show when she saw it at the Menier Chocolate Factory: “Who Do You Think You Are? meets You’ve Been Framed in this hilarious and touching portrayal of David Baddiel’s parents”.
A show about memories, ageing, infidelity, political correctness and gay cats, Baddiel invites audiences to come and be offended on his behalf on what promises to be a provocative and hilarious evening.
