In 1963 Louisiana, Caroline, a black maid to a Jewish family, struggles economically and emotionally. She is not the only one struggling, as the son of her employer tries to cope with the death of his mother. The intimate story explores big issues of race and human rights.
Caroline, Or Change originally opened at the Public Theater, New York in 2003 before transferring to Broadway in 2004. Original director George C Wolfe makes his National Theatre debut, taking control of this production.
