Chaucer’s pilgrims tell tales to pass the time on the way to Canterbury. As the pilgrims come from all aspects of society, so their tales differ in content and style. The RSC presents their journey in two parts that can be seen together or as entirely separate shows.
Part I (The Knight, The Miller And Other Tales): The pilgrimage starts with a tale of chivalrous love as one would expect from a gallant knight. The Miller’s version of love is far bawdier, while the Nun’s Priest tells of a vain cockerel.
