The glamorous Blonde Bombshells swing band has a problem; every time they visit a GI camp their members keep disappearing. As if this were not bad enough, they have a BBC radio engagement coming up. Bandleader Betty has to take emergency measures in the form of a teenage clarinettist, an upper-class saxophonist, a singing nun and dragged-up draft dodger joining the band.
Alan Plater’s warm and witty stage production is based on his BAFTA-winning TV drama The Last Of The Blonde Bombshells and features the music of Fats Waller, the Andrews Sisters and Glenn Miller.
