The Olivier Award-winning Betroffenheit makes a highly anticipated return to Sadler’s Wells for two nights only.
Tragedy is laid bare on the stage in the critically acclaimed Betroffenheit – a word which describes the overwhelming feeling of shock and torment in the wake of disaster.
Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Crystal Pite and actor-playwright Jonathon Young join forces to examine the aftermath of Young’s personal tragedy, exploring what happens to a person after experiencing the all-too imaginable, and creating an inspiring dance theatre hybrid stark with unflinching honesty
Choreographed to the rhythm of Young’s words, the trauma of loss and the long road to recovery are uncovered through comedy and drama, poetry and movement.
The piece is co-created by Kidd Pivot and Electric Company Theatre..
