Bent follows one man’s journey from the hedonistic cabarets and clubs of 1930s Berlin to the inhuman excesses of an oppressive regime. When Max falls in love with a fellow prisoner he discovers the true meaning of love and self-acceptance against impossible odds.

The first major production of Martin Sherman’s landmark play in over 16 years marks the return of Laurence Olivier and Tony Award winner Alan Cumming to the West End stage. Cumming first made an impression on the public consciousness in BBC2 comedy The High Life. On stage he won the Comedy Performance of the Year Laurence Olivier Award in 1991, and has also appeared in The Conquest Of The South Pole, Hamlet and Cabaret, which transferred to Broadway where Cumming collected a Tony award.

Daniel Kramer directs this exciting new production which also features a new song, especially written for the play, by Chris Lowe (of the Pet Shop Boys) and Martin Sherman.
