Hard-hitting, tender and painfully funny, Rikki Beadle-Blair’s play explores the influence of dance-hall music and the homophobic culture and lyrics that, in Bashment, lead to a vicious nightclub attack.
Kerry Michael, Artistic Director at Stratford East, says of the play “Bashment is a very exciting new work by one of the UK’s most prolific writers. It deals with violence and victimisation, and their causes and consequences with a great deal of insight. It is a play for our times that poses a lot of the difficult questions.”
Bashment is not suitable for children or those easily offended.
