Although it was written after Mozart’s the Marriage Of Figaro, Rossini’s prequel is set before the Count has won Rosina from under the nose of the jealous Doctor Bartolo, and charts how the young lovers, aided by the wily barber Figaro, evade the doctor’s efforts to claim her for himself.
The Barber Of Seville will run in tandem with the Marriage Of Figaro.
