Now in its second year, The Bridge Project is a transatlantic collaboration between the Old Vic and Brooklyn Academy of Music which brings together a company of actors from both sides of the Atlantic to perform a double bill of classic plays.
This year, director Sam Mendes directs As You Like It and The Tempest with a company led by Stephan Dillane, Christian Camargo, Ron Cephas Jones and Juliet Rylance.
As You Like It, Shakespeare’s pastoral romantic comedy, features Rylance and Michelle Beck as the heroines Rosalind and Celia, and Camargo and Thomas Sadoski as Orlando and Touchstone.
American actor Camargo has appeared on Broadway several times, including in the role of Hamlet. However he is probably best known for playing Rudy in US TV drama Dexter.
Young British actress Rylance, the daughter of acclaimed actor Mark Rylance, has appeared on stage both in New York and London, including Shakespeare’s Globe.
Dillane, who plays Jacques in As You Like It, returns to the stage for the first time since winning a Tony Award for Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing. He also takes on the lead role of Prospero in The Tempest.
As You Like It and The Tempest play in repertoire at the Old Vic.
