Rosalind is a girl, disguised as a boy called Ganymede, pretending to be a girl called Rosalind, so that the man she loves, Orlando, can practise wooing Rosalind (whom he thinks is Ganymede).

Orlando loves Rosalind (but thinks she is a boy called Ganymede). Phoebe loves Ganymede (not knowing she is a girl called Rosalind). Freud would have had a field day with this!
