Set during one summer term in the 1930s at an English public school, Julian Mitchell’s wonderfully witty Olivier Award-winning play Another Country tells the story of a scandal hitting these hallowed educational corridors. When two defiant and idealistic schoolboys react, their actions have wide reaching consequence, not just for them and their friends, but for the school and even the country.

Mitchell’s drama was first seen in the West End in 1982, when it helped to launch the careers of actors including Rupert Everett, Kenneth Branagh, Daniel Day Lewis and Colin Firth.

This new production was originally staged at Chichester’s Minerva Theatre in the autumn of 2013, when The Telegraph’s Charles Spencer described it as “a gripping, detailed production that does equal justice to the play’s humour and its gathering sense of cruelty and darkness.”
