After its premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe last year, where it won great critical acclaim, An Instinct For Kindness comes to Trafalgar Studio 2.
In 2010 Chris Larner accompanied his chronically ill ex‐wife to Switzerland’s Dignitas clinic. He returned with an empty wheelchair and a story to tell.
Directed by Hannah Eidinow, An Instinct For Kindness is a moving, bittersweet show that reflects on the circumstances, morality and humanity surrounding Larner’s journey.
Through a candid, poignant and sometimes comic performance, he explores both the profound personal implications and the wider ethical issues that surround the contentious topic of assisted suicide.
Larner is a writer, actor and director whose theatre credits include the RSC’s Alice In Wonderland and Wind In The Willows at the National Theatre.
