Susie McKenna, panto writer /director extraordinaire, teams up with composer Steve Edis once more as they return to the home of their past successes for this year’s seasonal offering, Aladdin, featuring genies and lamps, magic carpets and all the mysteries of the east – including tap dancing pandas.
McKenna has presided over countless pantomimes at Hackney Empire, including last year’s Mother Goose, which starred panto dame Clive Rowe in the title role. Hackney fans will be delighted to hear that Rowe returns again this year to play Widow Twanky in Aladdin.
West End musical theatre actress Anna Jane Casey steps into the title role, starring in a cast that also includes Hackney Empire regulars Tameka Empson and Kat B.
