Caryl Churchill’s A Number is a two-hander set in the near future that centres on the conflict between a father and son and addresses human cloning, identity and nature versus nurture.

This new production of A Number stars real-life father and son Timothy and Samuel West, who have a wealth of London stage credits between them. Samuel West’s last outing at the Menier Chocolate Factory was to direct Patrick Marber’s Dealer’s Choice, while he was seen on stage in the West End in Enron, Betrayal and The Family Reunion. Timothy West’s vast career includes recent credits in The Old Country, The Lover & The Collection and King Lear.

Churchill’s many plays include Top Girls, Drunk Enough To Say I Love You?, Blue Heart and Bliss, many of which have been peformed at the Royal Court. 

A Number is directed by Jonathan Munby, who directed the recent production of The Prince of Homburg at the Donmar Warehouse.
